Ascens bvba is a young consulting company based in the region of Antwerp, Belgium, specialized in end-to-end application management. We manage projects in Belgium, Luxembourg and the south of the Netherlands.

Prior to starting Ascens, Peter and Bart built a massive background in the setup and management of dynamic application infrastructure as well as software quality assurance projects.

Peter De Waegemaeker — Managing Partner

Prior to founding Ascens, Peter spent 10 years in the ICT Services industry, as a software quality assurance manager and business analyst, mainly in the banking and pharmaceutical sector.

Peter’s specialty is defining, implementing and managing highly critical software testing & validation projects.

Peter graduated in 1999 as a Bachelor in Electromechanics at Karel de Grote Hogeschool in Antwerp.

If Peter wouldn’t have pursued his IT carreer, he would be a Ferrari Formula1 pilot.

Bart Scheenaerts — Managing Partner

Prior to founding Ascens, Bart spent 10 years in the ICT Services and Outsourcing industry, where he held various project management, business development and general management functions for large and midsized international ICT companies.

Bart’s specialty is creating and validating business cases for highly virtualized and secure application infrastructure. Furthermore, Bart relies on a broad experience as a program and project manager in the development and setup of new IT outsourcing projects.

Bart graduated in 2007 as Executive MBA at Flanders Business School in Antwerp, with a background in Architecture until 1995 at Artesis Hogeschool in Antwerp.

After hours, Bart is addicted to CoBrA art and Single Malt Whisky.
